In matric it runs the applications: dates, documents and reminders. Learners do the assessment and the applications; parents give consent and get an oversight view.

Twelve months from the day you pay. R 100 once covers the rest of Grade 11, the final Grade 11 report and Grade 12 up to that date — Oriva moves you on to Grade 12 in January by itself. If your twelve months end before Grade 12 does, the rest of Grade 12 is its own R 100, and what you've saved carries over. A Grade 10 gets the same twelve months, into Grade 11.

That is not every institution in the country, and the free deadline tool shows when each university was last verified.

Yes — all 50 public TVET colleges and 19 registered private institutions, alongside the universities, with the 34 national NC(V) and NATED programmes colleges teach and 78 qualifications at the private institutions we have catalogued. Most matrics in this country do not go to a public university, so a tool that tracked only universities would be no use to them. Two things to know: TVET colleges run several intakes a year rather than one closing date, so confirm the current window with the college; and NSFAS funds universities and TVET colleges but not private institutions, where you ask about the institution's own bursaries instead.

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Oriva organises and tracks the process; you submit each application on the institution's own portal. Anyone promising to apply on your behalf is describing something different from this.

Yes. Enter your subject percentages and Oriva calculates your APS on the standard 7-point scale — best six subjects, excluding Life Orientation — then checks it against each course's APS and subject-level requirements. UCT and Wits run their own composite scores, and the app tells you where that applies.

When a matric adds a course, Oriva creates its closing date, a reminder to book and write the NBT two weeks ahead, and the university's residence deadline. For a Grade 10 or 11 learner these arrive in Grade 12, when a target on the shortlist becomes an application. The NBT item is a reminder to book — Oriva does not hold a live NBT sitting calendar, so confirm dates and fees on nbt.ac.za.

Yes, on one account. Add each child in your settings; each is unlocked on their own for R 100 once — no subscription. Each learner gets their own assessment, marks, course matches and applications, and you switch between them from the sidebar or your settings. Consent you give once: the approval screen lists your children together and you consent for all of them in a single step.

The career assessment and its results. Once you sign up, every learner can answer the 48 questions and see their interest profile and the careers ranked by fit before anyone pays anything. Everything else — the course matcher and APS, applications, deadlines and reminders, bursaries, the AI helpers and the parent view — is R 100 once: until 31 January 2027 in matric, or for 12 months from the day you pay in Grade 10 or 11. You pay only if you choose to unlock it. The deadline tool on this site is free too, and needs no account.

There is nothing to cancel. The 2026 school year offer is a single R 100 payment, not a subscription — it does not renew and you will not be charged again. Access simply runs to 31 January 2027 in matric, or for 12 months from the day you pay in Grade 10 or 11. If you want your data gone before then, delete the account from settings and everything in it goes with it.

Your data is visible only to your family, enforced at the database level rather than by the app asking nicely. A learner under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian's consent before anything is stored — POPIA calls that a competent person, and nobody else can stand in for you. A teacher, school staff, an internet café or a relative may carry the request to you, and Oriva records who helped and in what capacity separately from who consented. No email address is fine: a South African mobile number works instead. You can withdraw consent or delete the account and everything in it at any time from settings.

No. A good counsellor knows your child; Oriva knows the deadlines, the APS arithmetic and the entry requirements across 201 courses and programmes. It handles the admin so the conversations you do have can be about the decision rather than the paperwork.
